Highlights: The Rite of Spring by Dewey Dell

What better way to celebrate the arrival of spring than with The Rite of Spring.

From May 28 to 30, 2026, the Théâtre Silvia Monfort will host The Rite of Spring by the Italian company Dewey Dell, as part of the international Paris-Globe festival. This powerful and mesmerizing reinterpretation of Igor Stravinsky’s masterpiece, awarded Best Dance Production in Italy in 2023, blends contemporary dance, visual arts, and animal imagery.

Under the choreographic direction of Teodora Castellucci, the performance draws inspiration from art history iconography and instinctive animal behaviour. The stage becomes a space of metamorphosis where the performers – dressed in striking costumes – embody the wild forces of spring: vitality, sacrifice, rebirth. Stravinsky’s music, performed by MusicAeterna under the direction of Teodor Currentzis, elevates the ritual with a constant tension between hypnotic beauty and primal brutality.

Driven by a haunting scenography and virtuosic movement, this creation transcends the traditional codes of ballet to deliver a sensory, almost shamanic, experience. Dewey Dell asserts its unique signature here, at the crossroads of experimentation and raw emotion. The Rite of Spring becomes a total theatrical act, where each movement explores our connection to nature, the body, and collective rituals.

An unmissable event for lovers of contemporary dance.
